  1. Open Netscape by double-clicking on the Netscape Communicator icon in the Netscape Communicator program folder.
  2. In Netscape Communicator, click on Edit and select Preferences...

  4. Click the blue arrow next to the Mail and News servers.
  5. Click on Identity.
  6. On the right, fill out the Your name field. This is the name that will appear on your outgoing messages.
  7. Fill out your XMission email address in the Email address field.

  9. On the left, click on Mail Servers.
  10. On the right side, highlight the mail server under Incoming Mail Servers and click on Edit.
  11. Now type mail.xmission.com in the Server Name field.
  12. In the User Name field, type your XMission username
  13. Check the Save Password box.
  14. Click on Ok.

  16. Under the Heading Outgoing Mail Server you will see two fields. In Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server, type mail.xmission.com.
  17. Click on Ok

  19. Click on the Communicator pull down menu and select Messenger.
  20. Click the Get Msg button and enter your XMission password when prompted.

Congratulations! You should now see your Inbox. You're ready to start sending and receiving email.
