Letter to XMission Photo Gallery (Gallery2) Customers

XMission Photo Gallery Discontinued
------------------------------------------------------------------

We regret to inform our photo gallery customers that, due to a lack of
customer interest, XMission has decided to no longer provide a photo
gallery service. Before shutting down the service, we can help you migrate
your gallery to a free hosted service.

Visit our wiki for suggestions of free hosted photo gallery solutions on the
web and instructions on how to move your gallery data to that new service:
 http://wiki.xmission.com/index.php?title=Migration:Gallery2

If you have a gallery that you want to move, we ask that you migrate it
before the end of June, when we will shut down our photo gallery. If you
migrate your gallery somewhere, email support@xmission.com with the new
address and we'll automatically redirect requests from your old XMission
gallery to the new location for a year.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in this matter. If you
need help with any of the steps outlined in our instructions, or have
other questions call or email support@xmission.com

Moving from XMission Gallery2 to an alternate online Gallery

Our suggestion is to use a free program called ‘Migratr’ at (http://www.callingshotgun.net/about/migratr/).

Migratr is a desktop application which moves photos between popular photo sharing services. Migratr will also migrate your metadata, including the titles, tags, descriptions and album organization. Whether you want to copy your photos from Flickr to Faces, Picasa to Phanfare, or Zenfolio to Zooomr, Migratr is the app for you. Migratr will copy your photos FROM any supported photo service, TO any supported photo service.

Migratr supports exporting to and from the following services:

  • 23HQ
  • Aol Pictures (Import Only) (CLOSING)
  • Faces.com
  • Flickr
  • Menalto Gallery/Gallery2 (Self-Hosted)
  • Picasa Web
  • Phanfare
  • Photobucket
  • SmugMug
  • Zenfolio
  • Zooomr

Migratr is available on Windows only. If you require assistance in migrating your photos off, we can do it for you if you provide us with your XMission gallery username/password, and your destination gallery username/password. Please do not send this information via email or any other means which could compromise your account security. Contact us for more information.
