Client Configuration for Email

These easy to follow instructions will help you configure your favorite client for use with your email service.

For greater convenience, you can always use XMission Webmail.

Recommended Email Settings

Incoming Server Information: Outgoing Server Information:
Server Type: IMAP Server Type: SMTP
Hostname: Hostname:  
Port: 993 Port: 587
Enable encryption: YES Enable encryption: YES
Authenticate Using: Password Requires Authentication: YES
Login User Name: XMission Username   Login User Name XMission Username
Alternate Port: 143, SSL POP3 995   Alternate Port: 465 (For older systems, no longer supported)
Webmail Interface:
Folders: Sent Mail = "Sent", Drafts = "Drafts", Trash = "Trash", Spam = "Junk"

Please note: Some free wireless hotspots may block non-SSL ports without an extra fee. If you cannot send or receive while on certain wifi networks (especially ones in airports or public spaces) please check their terms and conditions.


Windows 10 / 8.x

Although XP and Windows 7 will still work - they are no longer supported as they are EOL by Microsoft.
