Eudora 5 for Windows Filtering

Standard filtering

  1. Clicking on the Start button, go to Programs, then Eudora, and select Eudora Lite.
  2. Click Tools and select Filters.

  4. For this example, check the Incoming box.
  5. Choose From: from the drop-down menu next to Header:.
  6. In the drop-down menu directly under Header:, choose contains.
  7. In the box next to contains, enter the email address (or part) that you're trying to filter. We've used unwanted@spam.com.

  8. In the Action box, choose what you want to do with the filtered email. In this case, choose Server Options.

  9. Check the Delete box.
  10. Click the X in the upper right-hand corner to close the window.

This example created a filter that looks for unwanted@spam.com in the From: line of an email. If it finds a message with unwanted@spam.com in the From: line, it will then delete it.


SpamAssasin Filter

  1. Click on Tools and select Filters.
  2. Click on New to create a new filter.
  3. The fields on the right should be filled out as follows:
    Header: "X-Spam-Flag:" (without quotes)
    appears
    ignore
  4. Beneath Action, choose what you'd like to do with the message from the drop-down menu. To move it to another folder, select Transfer To.
  5. Next to your selected action, a field for additional information will be activated. In the case of discarding the message, select Trash

from the menu.

  1. Click on the x at the top/right of the Filters window.
  2. Click Yes when asked if you'd like to save changes.
