Description

XMission provides a SIP server free of charge. sip.xmission.com is a SIP server for use by XMission customers. It will allow you to send and receive SIP phone calls to other SIP clients. You can receive calls at your XMission email address <xm_username>@xmission.com (of course, substitute your own XMission username). You can place calls to any other SIP server on any other domain, but can not place calls to the PSTN (public telephone network).

How to sign up

Go to http://sip.xmission.com to sign up. Use your XMission username and password to create your account.

After your account is created follow these instructions: In your SIP Client software, set server to sip.xmission.com, username to your xm_username, and set your password to your xm_password. Thats it!

SIP Client Software

We suggest the following software as SIP Clients:

X-Lite (Windows,Mac,Linux) http://www.counterpath.com/x-lite.html&active=4

Twinkle (Linux). This software package is included in many Linux distributions such as Ubuntu.

Ekiga (Linux). This software package is included in many Linux distributions such as Ubuntu.
