Salt Lake City, UT (October 16, 2007)– XMission, Utah’s largest independent Internet service provider, has teamed up with LAN Party hosting organization Protocol 42, as a sponsor of the organization’s sixth annual LAN Party and tournament, which is scheduled to take place from Saturday, October 20 to Sunday, October 21 in Salt Lake City.

Building upon the success of its previous five years of LAN tournaments, and with the support of sponsors like XMission, Protocol 42 will continue to extend the capacity of the 2007 tournament, making this the largest LAN party in Protocol 42’s history.

Open to online gamers of all ages and abilities, Protocol 42 will provide networking, power and connectivity to all tournament participants, enabling them to play some the world’s most popular online PC games in a live, fully-interactive tournament environment. A small sample of hosted games will include Medal of Honor: Airborne, Counterstrike Source, Team Fortress 2, Half Life 2, Quake 3, Age of Kings, Age of Mythology, Doom 3, Everquest, Starcraft, Star Wars Battlefront, World of Warcraft, Unreal Tournament 2004 (UT2K4), and Warcraft, among many others.
