Windows 2000 Setup

  1. Click on the Start button, go to Settings, then to Network and Dial-up Connections, and select Make New Connection.
  2. Click Next.

  3. Select Dial-up to the Internet.
  4. Click Next.

  5. Select I want to set up my Internet connection manually, or I want to connect through a local area network (LAN)..
  6. Click Next.

  7. Select I connect through a phone line and a modem.
  8. Click Next.

  9. Enter your local XMission access number here.
  10. Click the Advanced button.

  11. Select the Addresses tab.
  12. Select Always use the following.
  13. In the spaces now available next to Primary DNS server, enter 198.60.22.2.
  14. In the spaces available next to Alternate DNS server, enter 198.60.22.22.

  16. In the field labeled User name, enter your XMission username.
  17. In the field labeled Password, enter your XMission password.
  18. Click Next.

  19. Enter "XMission" into the Connection Name field.

  21. Click No.
  22. Click Next.
  23. Click Finish.

  24. To dial, click Start, go to Settings, then to Network and Dial-up Connections, and select XMission. In the new window, click Dial.
