  1. Click on the Start button, go to All Programs, Accessories, Communications, and select New Connection Wizard.

  2. On the New Connection Wizard screen, click Next.
  3. Select Connect to the Internet.
  4. Click Next.
  5. Select Setup my connection manually.
  6. Click Next.
  7. Select Connect using a dial-up modem.
  8. Click Next.
  9. In the field labeled ISP Name, type in XMission.
  10. Click Next.
  11. In the field labeled Phone Number:, enter your local XMission access number.
  12. Click Next.
  13. In the field labeled User name:, enter your username as user@xmission.com. (Note:"@xmission.com" is required)
  14. In the field labeled Password:, enter your password.
  15. In the field labeled Confirm Password:, enter your password again.
  16. Click Next.
  17. If you'd like a shortcut added to your desktop, click Add a shortcut to this connection to my desktop and click Finish.
  18. Click Start, go to Connect To, and select XMission. (You can also double-click the XMission icon on your desktop if you chose to add it.)
  19. Click the Properties button.
  20. Click on the Networking tab.
  21. If Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) isn't highlighted, click once to highlight it and then click on the Properties button
  22. Select Use the following DNS server addresses.
  23. In the space provided next to Preferred DNS server:, enter 198.60.22.2
  24. In the space provided next to Alternate DNS server:, enter 198.60.22.22
  25. Click OK, then OK again.
  26. Click Dial to connect.
